//Declaración para el Festival Mundial de la Juventud in Caracas //8 de Agosto 2005

En este XVI Festival Mundial de la Juventud nos encontramos reunidos jóvenes de los cinco continentes, unidos en oposición al imperialismo y al capitalismo global. Nuestra reunión ofrece esperanza a todos aquellos que están luchando; desde la resistencia iraquí contra la brutal ocupación norteamericana hasta las luchas por poner los recursos naturales en manos de los trabajadores y los pobres en Bolivia, hasta los que luchan contra los ejércitos y corporaciones del imperialismo.

REVOLUTION veut construire un mouvement révolutionnaire international des jeunes.

Le mouvement révolutionnaire des jeunes doit être organisationnellement et politiquement indépendant, il doit décider ses propres activités et sa propre politique.

Le mouvement doit être ouvert à tous les jeunes qui veulent lutter contre le capitalisme.

REVOLUTION déterminera sa politique à travers des réunions nationales et démocratiques de ses militants dans chaque pays, et à travers des réunions internationales des délégués qui se réuniront aussi souvent que possible.

Public statement on the split in REVOLUTION, International Council, 10th October 2006
In Berlin on 7th October a grouping of former comrades of REVOLUTION completed the process of splitting from the organisation. This process began at the end of June when a minority of delegates to REVOLUTION's International Conference walked out before the conclusion of the meeting.

On Thursday 27th December in a devastating attack the leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Benazir Bhutto, was assassinated. At a mass rally of the PPP Bhutto was waving out of the sunroof of her car and was shot twice in the chest and in the neck. Seconds later a bomb exploded killing at least 16 civilians. Bhutto later died in hospital due to these injuries.

On November 25, two young people from the suburb Villiers-le-Bel in the North of Paris were involved in a lethal incident with the police. While not all the facts of this accident are clear, one thing can be said for sure: the policemen hit and ran. The two young people were left badly hurt, and died of their injuries. Since then the press has been reporting the reactions of the young people in the suburbs and comparing the events with riots of autumn 2005/2006. What they don’t mention is the massive, murderous failure of French police. After the accident young people from the banlieues (the name of the French suburbs) have attacked police stations and other state buildings. Their anger is aimed at the state organs of repression and all of its institutions. On Monday (November 26) there were reports of unrest in six other banlieues.

In Palestine the US, Israel and the leading faction of PLO/Fatah has provoked an armed settlement with Hamas. It is a cynical joke to claim that the current split between Gaza and the West Bank is the result of a coup from Hamas. The act of Hamas was a reply to the declaration of war that Abbas politics has meant. Pressures from Israel and the US in the form of economic starvation and political boycott in combination with repeated military violence, the imprisoning of Hamas ministers, the arming of militias loyal to Abbas to the tune of millions of US dollars etc has all meant that the realisation of the democratic will of the Palestinian people has been made impossible. The so-called coup from Hamas has only been the logical continuation of the organisation's defence of its democratic mandate against the on-going military armament from Abbas and his, US, and Israeli plans for a coup d'etat to get rid of Hamas.

On 19-20 of September the IMF and the World Bank will gather in Singapore for another of their annual top meetings. This is the meeting of the leaders of the trans and multinational corporations and banks in alliance with capitalist politicians from all over the globe. Behind an agenda which claims goals for the meeting such as “promoting public-private partnerships to foster sustainable development” stands the same neo-liberal institutions that have helped the strongest capitalist powers in the world of today to super-exploit and rob the third world of its labour and resources.

On the Sunday 30th July as part of its huge military offensive against Lebanon the Israeli army dropped a single massive bomb on the town of Qana killing over 50 innocent civilians who were sheltering for cover in the basement of residential apartments that were destroyed. The Israeli response was a disdainful ‘we told you to leave your homes'. And so they had. The Israeli's had issued a ‘warning' to every citizen of southern Lebanon to get out or face the consequences.
