Swedish REVO mobilising for antifascist demo on 6th of June in Stockholm

Here in Stockholm there will be a demonstration of the fascists on the 6th of june, swedens "national day". Revolution in Stockholm has joined the network against racism, where we have taken a strong position as a group taking initiatives in trying to draw in other forces to widen the united front. As a result mainly from our initiatives, other groups such as the CWI and the Young Left is now planning to join in the demo. In this work we gained the respect of other forces in the network (mainly anarchists).

Now, 2 weeks of intensive mobilisation is following. On the 6th of June, the network is mobilising for a counter-demonstration which is calling for international solidarity in opposition to the right-wing government, and of course the fascists. Revo will have a speaker at the demo, and members outside Stockholm is also planning to attend. After the demo the plan is to get close to the fascist-demo and try to heckle them. Unfortunately we will not be many enough to block them or chase them away. But it will hopefully be a step in the right direction after last years failures.

Wish us luck, and even though I know it is a bit late to inform you about this, in case you want to visit Stockholm for the 6th of June and join us, we welcome you with open arms (including free accommodation and good fun).

This Thursday, there will also be a demo against the visit of Condoleezza Rice, whom will participate with other foreign ministers in a meeting hosted by the Swedish right-wing government that aims to plan for more UN responsibility in the occupation of Iraq. We plan for a noisy contingent.
